Manatee Snout Surfacing
Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. A curious manatee floats and surfaces for a breath. Snout and whiskers are prominent. It is a cool winter day but this manatee is staying warm in the freshwater springs. Vertical orientation with blue water. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
