Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. An adult manatee peacefully floats near historic remnants of wooden posts, left by the Cousteau team in the early 1970s. A rescued manatee named Sewer Sam was being corralled with tall posts for observation and these are what is left today. Horizontal orientation with mixing blue and aqua water. Three Sisters Springs, Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge, Kings Bay, Crystal River, Citrus County, Florida USA.
