Florida manatee, Trichechus manatus latirostris, a subspecies of the West Indian manatee, endangered. Series depicting the close bond of manatee mother and calf. A mother and calf float at the calm surface while the mother appears to try to corral the active calf. A fish, bream, Lepomis spp., is present. Another manatee rests below. Peaceful, natural, undistrubed scene. Horizontal orientation with blue spring water, rainbow sun rays and reflection.
