  • A Florida manatee rests in the warm spring water enhanced by direct sunshine near Big Sister Spring. It is the middle of the winter season when manatees come to the freshwater springs to stay warm. To the far left underwater markers are set to delineate manatee only resting areas. The public boardwalk that recently opened, invites land visitors to observe manatees while staying warm and dry.
